About the Recipe

The Malvani fish fry is a delicious, crunchy preparation usually made with kingfish, mackerel or pomfret. Pair it up with plain rice or Rice roti and fish curry.

Ingredients

  • 500 gms Surmai Fish or Pomfret Fish cuts (thin slices of 1-2 inches)


  • 1 Lemon


  • 1 tbsp SPICEBAY® Red Chilli powder mild


  • 4 tbsp SPICEBAY® Malvani fish masala


  • ½ cup of Rice or Semolina (Suji) flour


  • 4 tbsp of Oil


  • ½ tbsp Ginger paste


  • ½ tbsp Garlic paste


  • Salt to taste


Preparation

Step 1


Wash and drain the pieces of fish properly.


Step 2


Take 3 tbsp SPICEBAY® Malvani Fish masala, add 1/2 tbsp Ginger & Garlic paste


Step 3


1/2 lemon, Salt to taste, little water to make thick paste. Rub the above thick paste evenly on Fish and let it marinate for 30 mins.


Step 4


In a flat plate add Rice flour, 1tbsp SPICEBAY® Malvani Fish masala,1 tbsp Red chilli powder, salt as per taste.



Step 5


Once done, apply this dry masala on the marinated fish pieces and coat it thoroughly.


Step 6


Heat oil in a pan, add marinated fish and cook on both sides till golden on both sides.


Step 7


Serve Malvani Fish Fry hot with Onion rings & Lemon wedges.
